Songs and Collaborations by Matt Cameron

Matt, please let us know if we’ve left anything out!

Matt’s discography is impressively long. There’s a reason why he is regarded as one of the best drummers in the world. Originally hailing from San Diego, CA, his first musical debut was in the comical and squeaky hit “Puberty Love,” which he sang for the classic movie Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

That was only the beginning for Matt. After moving to Seattle in the early 80s, he linked up with Daniel House (bassist) and together they started the band Feedback. Joined with guitarist “Nerm,” the band existed for about a year before Matt moved onto Skin Yard.

Skin Yard (1985)

According to Jack Endino, who produced most of the early Seattle records, and even played in Skin Yard himself, Cameron left the band in March 1986 because the members just didn't get along. In September 1986, he joined Soundgarden, who were looking for a new drummer since Scott Sundquist had decided to quit (he had a wife and children, and was interested in finding a steadier job). The band welcomed him with open arms since although Cameron's specialty is drumming, he can also sing, play bass and guitar, and has songwriting talent. [source]
