HIGHER TRUTHS: CHRIS CORNELL TAKES US BEHIND THE MUSIC
This fall, Chris Cornell released his released his fourth solo album, Higher Truth. The record, produced by Brendan O'Brien, is a mile-marker for Cornell, which finds him further embracing his songwriting instincts outside of a band dynamic. Over the past few decades, Cornell has become one of rock's most iconic living frontmen, as the founding member of Temple of the Dog, the voice of Soundgarden, and the mastermind behind Audioslave.
For this episode of Set List, we sat down with Cornell to talk about his lengthy musical history, his commercial success, and the legacy he wants to leave behind. Leading up to a stretch of solo acoustic shows in support of Higher Truth, he reflected back on how he got his start as a solo artist and explained why he thinks spontaneity is a rarity among musicians today. Check out the episode above, and catch Cornell on tour in a city near you.
